The Neat Ripple blanket (still in progress) is the background for this month’s marker. But this month has already seen some action.
It was my oldest granddaughter’s 18th birthday and a small family gathering was held at her home in Sussex to celebrate. What a milestone to have a grandchild that old!
My friend and I went to Wareham for the annual Dorset Arts and Crafts Showcase, which has competition craft articles, artisan sales and specialist exhibitions. It’s always nice to see different crafts. Below are a few of the quilts
Above is a bicycle disc brake with zen tangle and the spikes had free machined pieces on them.

At the end of July I had a lot of projects in progress. Here’s one that the first finish for August
I made most of these L shaped blocks last year after seeing in one of the Love Patchwork & Quilting magazines. It made use of 2.5” coloured strips (some from my Mum’s stash) together with low volume background fabrics. There was some orange print fabric from Project Linus which I used as a strip to extend the backing fabric and for the border.
Next thing is layer up the kit quilt and get that quilted
Another ‘finish’ is a sock. Yes I know the other one has to be made to make up a pair but that’s in progress now. So this is a second finish up for August.
