It’s June!

It’s June

And a finish on the 1st are the Hobbity socks. These socks are knitted in James C Brett Funny Feetz in shade 18 (it doesn’t have a name, just a number).  The pattern is a Bakery Bears one, which was in the Patreon magazine, so for patrons only.

Another finish has been David’s cardigan.

This was knitted in Hayfield Soft Twist in Silver and the pattern is by King Cole.  The back was to have cables but he preferred that to be plain.  Instead of picking up stitches for the front band (400 odd stitches!) I did rib bands for the button and buttonhole bands and I joined together with Kitchener grafting, just like I do for socks. I watched a You Tube for the process with rib stitches and it worked well, so I’m really chuffed with the seamless joining.

I said there were nearly there finishes in my last post and so they were!

And a new start - the mystery gnome knit a long. This is The More You Gnome, by Sarah Schira.  I enjoy making these as there are clever techniques to learn, which I made a start on yesterday.

I’ve chosen yarn from stash, purple, lilac and yellow. For obvious reasons it’s a mystery so I can’t share any pics for a while.

I’ve been doing some recreational painting at the weekend.  I have some fabric paints, mainly Dylon, that are getting old and need using. I also had some Colourcraft paint that is so old now it looks almost like mousse, but not totally solid so ok to use.  Along with some acrylic paint I decided to paint some card that I can use in paper crafting projects. Using a stencils, then a small gelli plate I made this little lot.

Some of the paints have a bit of lustre to them so they were very effective. Looking at the photo they look very summery in colour too.

We’re off on holiday at the weekend so there’ll be posts of our time away.
